Siblings’ Group

Children in a circle on the ground

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Norwood has adapted the way it is delivering its Children and Family Services and is continuing to provide support to our valued service users and Jewish families, schools and children. To find out more please get in touch by calling 020 8809 8809 and a member of our team will contact you as soon as we can.

Norwood’s Siblings’ Group offers ongoing support for children whose brother or sister has special educational needs and disabilities.

Most siblings have warm and positive relationships with their brothers and sisters regardless of their disability. However, some siblings also experience times when it is difficult to cope with the effect of their brother or sister’s needs on the family, school, and social life which leads to complex feelings of embarrassment, anger, resentment, sadness, guilt and worry.

The Siblings Group creates a community of siblings who are all facing similar situations.

We offer the opportunity for siblings to discuss their feelings in a safe space with peers that understand the complexity of emotions from their own experiences.
