Pyramid Club

What is Pyramid Club

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Norwood has adapted the way it is delivering its Children and Family Services and is continuing to provide support to our valued service users and Jewish families, schools and children. To find out more please get in touch by calling 020 8809 8809 and a member of our team will contact you as soon as we can.

These after-school classes are aimed at the quiet and shy children who can sometimes be overlooked in needing support because they aren’t disruptive or causing problems that get noticed.

Many of the children who attend the Pyramid Club are often very high achievers academically, but may struggle socially in large groups. A child may seem perfectly fine at home or with a couple of friends, but then has difficulties in larger groups or classrooms.

The Pyramid club is a proven model that builds confidence in children, boosting their self-esteem and confidence so that they interact more often with their fellow pupils.

What are the benefits?

Helping children overcome shyness has long term benefits in both educational success and long term career prospects as adults.

Giving people the confidence to speak-up when faced with situations they don’t always agree with further strengthens long term confidence and helps reduce stress and depression from feeling overlooked.

In a modern society where inter-personal relationships are growing in importance, particularly in office work, assisting children to attain the confidence to speak up in work and social situations enhances their long term career prospects.

Taking action at a young age to improve a shy person’s confidence is a long term benefit that will last a lifetime.

What do we offer?

Our Pyramid Club scheme offers ten weeks worth of 90 minute sessions on a weekly basis during term time, fitting in with school and pupil requirements.

At the club, children are offered the chance to socialise in much smaller groups which more closely match their confidence levels.

The aim of the club is to give children some breathing space and let them build up their confidence in smaller groups than a normal class size.

The best way to achieve that is in small groups, and with lots of fun.
