The Hackney Children and Family Centre provides services for the orthodox and wider Jewish community in Stamford Hill, North London.

What we do

For 0–5 year olds

  • Home-visiting service ‘Headstart Project’ with trained portage staff to promote the development of babies and toddlers with special educational needs and disabilities or to support parents with concerns about their babies’ or toddlers’ development.

For children and young people

  • Special educational needs and disabilities service providing multi-professional support, including early years support, to children up to the age of 19 who have difficulties in learning and development, language and communication, motor impairment, or emotional, social and behavioural difficulties.

For parents

Parenting skills

  • Speakers and workshops on a diverse range of child development and parenting topics.
  • One-to-one parenting advice.

For families

  • Advocacy and advice.
  • Counselling.
  • Drop-in service.
  • Individual work with children.
