Yes? Then Norwood’s Ravenswood centre in Crowthorne has a range of exciting courses and events just for you. With our courses, you’ll be able to meet new people in a caring environment and learn new skills. From arts and crafts, learning about nature, glass fusing and meeting the lovely horses at our stables, you will have a great time and learn new things to do. We offer life skills courses for all abilities, so whether you’re a beginner or skilled, we will give you the confidence and independence to enjoy what you want to do. The courses are complementary to Norwood’s existing highly experienced care services, so everyone who attends will be given the very best of support from our outstanding staff. We run courses though out the year, with different events taking place on different days so you can choose the best course to suit you. About Complementary Services Norwood’s Complementary Services department uses a learner-centred approach to enable and empower people. We tailor individual learning plans to work with each person. We identify people’s needs and support them to work towards their aspirations. Our courses are structured to make sure that we make the most of each learning opportunity and support people to develop skills they can use in everyday life. Embedded learning Complementary Services courses will support people to: develop and maintain foundation skills – Maths, English and ICT improve communication and social skills increase confidence and self-esteem improve self-awareness and awareness of others improve hand-to-eye co-ordination increase knowledge of personal health and wellbeing improve ability to work as part of a group increase ability to follow instructions and improve problem-solving skills develop and maintain practical living skills make choices and encourage independence develop understanding of health and safety learn about and practice British values How to apply for a course Once you have decided which course to apply for, please complete an application form and return it to the address at the back of the programme.
