Norwood appoints Rachael Davis-Stollar as chair of fundraising17 February 2020AnnouncementsThe Norwood Board is delighted to announce that Rachael Davis-Stollar has been appointed to the Board of Trustees as chair of fundraising. Rachael takes over this role from Mark Pollack, who held the post for eight years.Rachael qualified and practised as a finance and restructuring lawyer in the City. She is a professional skills coach to lawyers and C-suite professionals and is a visiting lecturer in business leadership. She has been a lay leader of Norwood for 15 years, co-chaired the board of Young Norwood for three years, and has been the chair and host of the annual Volunteer Recognition Awards since 2013.Of her appointment, Rachael says: “Norwood is a lifeline: it brings hope, joy, friendship and community to countless children and families. The people it supports are at the very heart of all it does. There is something magical about this charity and it is a great honour to have been appointed to its board of trustees.”Norwood’s chief executive, Dr Beverley Jacobson, says: “Firstly, I would like to thank Mark Pollack for all he has done for Norwood during his tenure as chair of fundraising. He served his two four-year terms with distinction and it was never going to be easy to find a suitable replacement. Having said that, we are delighted that Rachael has been chosen to take over from Mark and has accepted this position. Rachael has been associated with Norwood for many years and has, over that time – from her Young Norwood days to her chairing of the VRAs – shown her outstanding abilities in every role she has performed.”About Rachael Davis-StollarRachael qualified and practised as a finance and restructuring lawyer in the City. She is a professional skills coach, devising bespoke performance enhancement programmes to lawyers and C-suite professionals. Rachael is also a visiting lecturer in business leadership and management and is an associate fellow of the HEA.She sits on the Board of Trustees of the Radlett Centre Trust, oversees the investment portfolio of an estates charitable trust, and is a former Careers Academy mentor.Rachael has been involved with Norwood since 2005, during which time she has held a number of lay positions, including chair of the YN Lawyers committee and co-chair of the Board of YN. During her YN Board co-chair tenure, YN grew considerably, with a large number of new committees set up focusing on diverse areas of professional expertise. It was also during this time that the YN Patronage programme was introduced (starting with YN Friends and Patrons, then YN Platinum Patrons, and finally Chairman’s Circle). She has been chair of the annual Norwood Volunteer Recognition Awards since 2013.
