Chanukah revellers have a ball

2 January 2020

About 220 people attended Norwood’s Chanukah celebration at The Hive London on Tuesday 17 December. Among the party-goers were residents and staff from our Norwood homes, young adults with learning disabilities from the wider community, volunteers, Norwood trustees and other members of staff.

It had all the ingredients for a perfect party, with a delicious dinner, doughnuts, singing, dancing and a live band to entertain the guests. And no one went home empty-handed. Thanks to the efforts of year-9 pupils from South Hampstead High School, each person went home with a goodie bag, which was kindly handed out by Norwood’s chair Neville Kahn, among others.

Julia Hall, head of adult services at Ravenswood, said: “Norwood always brings the true spirit of Chanukah to life for everyone to enjoy together. To see the happiness and hear the laughter of both the people we support and staff, was just magical.”

Norwood’s mascot, a very friendly lion, charmed the crowd who all appeared to have a wonderful time.
