Join Norwood for Mitzvah Day 2019 5 November 2019 Volunteering Please join Norwood on Sunday 17 November for our own day of activities to celebrate Mitzvah Day, a day of social action bringing together people of all faiths and backgrounds. Together with our community partners, we’ll be supporting Sufra, which supports families living in poverty; ‘Wrap up London’, which collects unwanted coats for vulnerable people; and ALEH, which supports children with disabilities and complex medical conditions in Israel. Going Greener is this year’s theme and we’d love you to get involved in any way you can. We’ll be collecting glass jars with lids and pre-loved winter coats, so please bring yours along to one of our three centres – Broadway House in Stanmore, Kennedy Leigh in Hendon or Ravenswood in Berkshire – by Thursday 14 November. On the day itself, we’ll be holding a number of activities at our centres and greatly welcome your support to make them a success. Bring your sense of fun and get involved in a range of activities with other volunteers and some of the people we support at the following locations. Roll your sleeves up for arts, crafts and cake decorating at Kennedy Leigh Family Centre in Hendon from 10am–12 noon. Join the Mayor of Brent, Cllr Ernest Ezeajughi and other volunteers in providing afternoon tea for some of the people we support at Kenton Synagogue from 2.30–3.30pm. Put your artistic skills to good use in arts and crafts with the Radlett community at Radlett Reform Synagogue from 10am–12 noon. Meet for tea, and arts and crafts with the people we support at our Crownfield Avenue supported living home in Ilford from 2–4pm. Get creative with arts and crafts, followed by tea, with the residents of Ravenswood in Berkshire from 1–4pm. For more information and to let us know which activity you’d like to support, please email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 020 8420 6926.
