With a song in our hearts!

Getting our services and the people who use them engaged with the wider community around us is a huge priority for the year ahead at Norwood, and this week’s update showcases several wonderful examples of where and how this is happening.

On Sunday 30 June a group of Young Norwood volunteers visited Norwood’s 30 Old Church Lane residence as part of the new initiative. Following an introduction to Norwood and the work we do, the YN volunteers took part in a karaoke session with the residents of the home. The visit was a great success and the group are already planning their next venture.

A Friday night dinner with a difference

Last week, the New North London Synagogue in East Finchley hosted a very special Friday night celebration for Norwood residents for the second year running. Dozens of people we support attended the Shabbat service and then heartily enjoyed the meal that followed. The organising group was so enthusiastic about the evening that they are already planning next year’s event.

The evening was arranged by Norwood’s Jewish cultural adviser Dov Richman, who is constantly planning new ways to enrich our services with yiddishkeit.
