No walk in the park for Norwood’s royal runners

11 October 2016

Fifteen Norwood fundraisers joined 1,600 other runners at Sunday’s Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, raising an estimated £15,000 for the charity, which supports children, families and people with learning disabilities. The runners were cheered along by the crowds lining the scenic 13.1 mile route, which included Hyde Park, Green Park, the Houses of Parliament and Buckingham Palace.

First-time runner Simon Rosenblatt, who achieved a time of two hours eleven minutes together with his friend Gary Behar, said: "An amazing atmosphere, with cheering crowds, blue skies and beautiful scenery, helped push Gary and me all the way to the finish line. We hope that our efforts continue to raise awareness of what an amazing charity Norwood is and how important it is for us to help support it."
