Bright minds raise funds for Norwood23 September 2016Press Release Some of Britain’s brightest tech and finance minds gathered at Norwood’s YN Business, Finance, and Entrepreneurs Dinner on Tuesday 20th September, at The Waldorf Hilton, London – raising £115,000 for the charity. Joining guests was speaker Andrew Fisher, Executive Chairman of Shazam – who told of the story behind the company which he took from being a niche idea, to a globally recognised brand worth over $1 billion. He was joined by Sky News technology correspondent Tom Cheshire, who facilitated the talk. Speaking of the event, Andrew said; "Events like this are important for tech entrepreneurs, because it’s an opportunity to learn from other people’s mistakes, but also their successes as well." The event was sponsored by The Lord Leonard and Lady Estelle Wolfson Foundation, and helped to raised funds for the thousands of vulnerable children and families, children with special educational needs, and adults with learning disabilities Norwood supports. On the success of the evening, YN Business, Finance, and Entrepreneurs Dinner committee Chair Nick Feldman said: "I’m delighted with how the evening went – a significant amount raised for a wonderful cause, and everyone enjoyed the night."
