Running their socks off for Norwood25 April 2016Press Release Norwood’s sporty supporters ran their socks off on Sunday, with 19 of them completing the Virgin Money London Marathon, racing towards a projected fundraising total of £50,000. Clearly buoyed by the huge crowds lining the route, those participating finished strongly, with one – Andrea Fraquelli – crossing the line in an incredible 2 hours 48 minutes. The money raised will help the charity provide vital services for vulnerable families, children with special educational needs, and adults with learning disabilities. The knowledge of this, and the incredible support runners received, was enough to push everyone over that finish line. As runner Lawrence Glass put it: "I saw my family and friends around mile 24, cheering me on, and it was an incredible feeling. Their support was unbelievable. Somehow I managed to get over the finishing line, at which point I was incredibly emotional. I had never imagined how hard the whole experience was going to be and I was so proud of what I had achieved."
