Spectre spectacular raises £10,000 for Norwood

29 October 2015

As the stars gathered for the premier of the new Bond thriller, across town 150 guests flocked to Covent Garden’s Bond in Motion exhibition, raising £10,000 for Norwood’s services for vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs and adults with learning disabilities.

The event, YN Presents Comedy & Cocktails, kicked off with a round of Martinis– shaken not stirred. Afterwards guests were treated to canapés, casino tables and two legends of the London stand-up circuit, Steve Best and Tom Ward.

Delivering a moving appeal speech, Michael Kuperberg, who has a learning disability, explained how Norwood has given him the confidence to lead the life he wants and supported him to take up cycling. Urging guests to sign-up to one of the charity’s fundraising cycle challenges he said: "There are some serious hills but it’s worth it."

Lisa Lipshaw, YN Presents Committee Co-Chair said: "Sipping cocktails next to an Aston Martin isn’t a typical way to spend a Tuesday evening; there was a real buzz in the air. Events like these are a great way to spread awareness about the wonderful work this charity does, and we raised a lot of money as well. Watch this space for the next one!"
