Norwood Sports stars shine at the Bournemouth Special Olympics22 September 2015Press Release Finishing a Summer of sport in fine style, Norwood’s athletics squad travelled to Bournemouth to take part in the last Special Olympics Athletics competition of the season on Sunday 6 September. Getting the event off to a strong start, David Rosen won Bronze in the 400m, Martin Weiss secured a silver medal in the Soft Ball Throw, and Max Rabie won the 200m. A string of Gold Medals followed for Andrew Rammell, Neil Shaw, Liam Hermiston, Daniel Poisson, Nick Ivil and Lawrence Black. Neil Shaw, who won the Athlete of the Event award, took home a Gold Medal in the Soft Ball Throw and a Bronze Medal in the 50m. Drew Needs, Norwood Sports Team Leader said: "The team have been training hard and didn’t disappoint on their last fixture of the season. We look forward to seeing them in action again next year!"
