Take some cream cheese, milk, sugar, flour and eggs, a lot of care and attention, a spoonful of competition and big helping of Shavuot and you’ll get the perfect 2015 Norwood cheesecake bake-off!

On Friday staff and residents at Ravenswood in Berkshire gathered in the precinct cafe, eager to hear the results of the competition. Thirteen cheesecakes were duly tasted, and, after long deliberation, Ahava residential home’s chocolate cheesecake was declared the winner.

Judge Roberto Baganto said: "It was a very difficult decision, the standard of entries was high and there wasn't a soggy bottom among them. The chosen cake didn't just taste great, it was very well presented too."

The great cheesecake bake-off was just part of the Shavuot celebrations at Norwood, with activities taking place across Norwood’s services. On Thursday children at the Norwood Nursery learned about the festival and got the chance to make their own mini-cheesecakes.
