A grand day out at Vodafone9 February 2015Press Release Last week a group of generous Vodafone volunteers presented Norwood with a Vodafone Smart Tab 4, and gave the charity a tour of the Vodafone headquarters. The volunteers won the tablet in a company-wide competition and decided to donate it to the Norwood. Teams of volunteers from Vodafone are regular visitors to Ravenswood in Crowthorne, home to 130 adults with learning disabilities, where they help with painting, gardening and maintenance. Vodafone staff repaid the favour on Thursday, showing Norwood resident Michael Banbury and Norwood staff around the company’s state-of-the-art offices in Newbury. Michael Banbury, who is supported by Norwood and lives at Ravenswood, said: "The visit was really interesting and I had a lovely day." Charlotte Cuerden, from Vodafone’s marketing team, said: "It was great spending time with Michael and we really enjoyed showing him around Vodafone HQ. We can’t wait to come back and spend more time volunteering at Ravenswood, and we’re glad that the tablet is going to a good home!" Jane Phillips, Volunteer Placement Manager at Norwood, said: "Vodafone has been one of our most frequent volunteering teams so it was lovely to be able to pay them a visit. It really was a fascinating insight into what they do. We’re very grateful for their donation and we look forward to seeing them again at Ravenswood soon!"
