A birdbox challenge for Tu Bishevat9 February 2015Press Release As part of last Wednesday’s Tu Bishevat celebrations, people who live in Norwood’s residential accommodation at Ravenswood planted trees in the synagogue gardens and held a homemade birdbox competition. The colourful birdboxes were judged by Norwood’s Wendy Yeomans, while Norwood’s Rabbi Stanley Coton served fruit juice in the cafe. Eretz residential home took first prize, and the group were presented with an illustrated guide to British birds. Wendy said: "Everyone worked really hard to decorate a wonderful range of bird houses. It was a really tough job to pick a winner as they were all so lovely. Any bird would be proud to make one of these birdhouses their home." Children at Norwood’s Kennedy Leigh nursery in Hendon made TuBishevat cards and fruit salad.
