All-singing, all-dancing launch for YN Presents at Google HQ

14 January 2015

Guests were treated to an evening of cocktails, canapés and madcap musical satire last night at Norwood's first ever YN Presents event. Held at Google's impressive London headquarters, the fundraising evening featured the award-winning comedy troupe NewsRevue.

The event, which included a raffle and an auction, raised over £10,000 for Norwood's services. Bids are still open for the auction's 'big ticket' item – a chance walk onto the pitch as a Manchester United mascot at the annual derby match against Manchester City. The prize also includes two tickets for the game itself.

More than 180 attendees were left roaring with laughter as NewsRevue transformed the week’s headlines into catchy showtunes. The five-strong comedy act successfully lampooned everything from the Green Party’s bid for a TV debate slot to Gogglebox.

YN Presents is YN's first event aimed at people under 35 from across all industries.

The appeal speech was delivered by Shalev Nymark who is supported by Norwood. He said: "Norwood has changed my life and given me so much courage and passion and love."

Oli Winton, YN Committee Chair said: "There was no better place to launch our inaugural YN Presents event than the iconic Google offices. The whole evening was hugely entertaining, and, most importantly, our generous guests raised a considerable amount of money. The funds raised will enable Norwood to continue to provide vital support to children, families and adults with learning disabilities and autism."
