Toy fever sweeps Norwood11 December 2014Press Release Fifty-five excited children from across Norwood’s services, including Buckets and Spades, Binoh and Unity were allowed into Toys R Us in Brent Cross for an extra hour on Sunday 7 December for Norwood’s Annual Toy Sweep. Every year, the Toy Sweep Committee hold a series of fundraising events ranging from charity bridge evenings to charity film nights, raising over £4,000. This enabled them to present the children with a Toys R Us gift voucher for them to spend on whatever they wanted, and to buy toys which will then be distributed throughout Norwood’s services. During the day the children enjoyed doughnuts, were entertained by a magician, and even met Geoffrey the Giraffe. Debra Kleinman, Toy Sweep Chair said: "The children and their parents really loved the day. The committee has been running for 15 years now and every year the hard work is made completely worthwhile when we see the impact it has on the children."
