Handy volunteers show they’re no one-hit-wonders at Ravenswood

11 December 2014

Ever wondered what happens when a corporate services PR team don white boiler suits and get stuck in to a bit of DIY? You probably didn’t expect power ballads…

But that’s exactly what happened when twenty-two Vodafone employees volunteered to help refurbish a building at Ravenswood in Crowthorne, which will now be used to provide sporting opportunities for adults with learning disabilities.

The volunteers painted three rooms and a corridor, which will be put to good use by the Ravenswood cycling team. As well as picking up their paint brushes, the volunteers also proved they could carry a tune, belting out Disney hit Let it Go on camera, in an attempt to win a company-wide competition. If they win, they will be presented with a trip to Disneyland, which they have pledged to donate to Norwood.

Emma Sutcliffe, Marketing Manager, Customer Experience Centre at Vodafone said: "We’re a relatively new team, of all different ages and backgrounds, and the challenge bought us together. It was great to do something where you feel you are making a difference. We worked hard as a team and we all found our own strengths."
