A taste of Italy for Norwood’s Shabbat UK30 October 2014Press Release Norwood got into the spirit of Shabbat UK last week with a series of events throughout services across London and the southeast. At Norwood’s residential accommodation in Berkshire, Shabbat UK got a continental makeover, with the help of Italian Chef, Robert Bagato, who organised a challah bake. The synagogue service also featured a cupcake Kiddush. Roberto explained the bake-off was a great success: "Everyone was happy and cheerful, and baking the bread gave people great satisfaction." Norwood also held three separate Challah bakes in our supported living services in London and Essex and Friday night meals with members of Ilford Synagogue and Hendon Synagogue. Kennedy Leigh Nursery held a Shabbat UK pre-Shabbat party. Norwood’s Cultural Advisor Shoshana Bloom said: "While Friday night dinners take place every week in our homes, it was exciting to take part in a big national event. We welcomed new volunteers into our homes for Shabbat and everyone really enjoyed themselves."
