Distressed Investing Dinner raises £250,000 for Norwood

15 October 2013

Norwood is a great cause and I am thrilled to be doing something to support it.

Famed for his scoop on the Northern Rock crisis, Broadcaster, Robert Peston, was guest of honour at Norwood’s eighth annual Distressed Investing Dinner, which raised an unbelievable £250,000 for the Charity.

Robert was joined by over 200 industry experts at The Langham London in Westminster on Monday night. The event, generously sponsored by Bingham McCutchen (London) LLP, generates vital funds for the Charity, supporting vulnerable children, families, and people with learning disabilities, and is a highlight of the industry calendar.

Robert shared his views on the present state of the global economy and gave an in-depth perspective of the world’s economic outlook from East to West and back again.

Discussing the relative positions of the world economies, Robert highlighted that the UK’s economy is currently growing faster than other big developed economies, but questioned how long that could be sustained, unless British businesses start to invest more and the UK improves its trading performance.

Speaking during the event, Robert said: "Norwood is a great cause and I am thrilled to be doing something to support it."

Neville Kahn, Norwood Trustee and Distressed Investing Dinner Committee member said: "We are delighted at the success of this year’s event. Over the last eight years, the distressed investing industry has raised over £1million for this incredible organisation, and I hope that the generous support, will continue for years to come."
