Norwood elects new Chair, Deputy Chair and Vice President13 June 2013Press Release Norwood, a leading UK charity supporting vulnerable children, families and people with learning disabilities, has appointed a new Chair, Deputy Chair and Vice President. David Ereira, currently Deputy Chair since 2011, has been elected as Norwood’s Chair, effective from November 2013. David is a commercial investment real estate consultant who has had a long involvement with Norwood dating back to 1992. He has a strong belief in the mentoring, development and involvement of young lay people in all aspects of community and charitable work. David founded YN (Young Norwood), a large young professional lay network with 2-3,000 active members since its inception 21 years ago. David will replace Bernie Myers as Chair in November 2013. Bernie’s tenure began in 2008. Bernie is a Chartered Accountant and spent most of his career in senior roles within the Rothschild Group. Having retired in 1996, he remains a director and consultant with the group. Julia Chain, who has been a Norwood Trustee since 2004 has been appointed as the charity’s Deputy Chair. A qualified solicitor and former General Counsel, Julia moved into management consultancy in 2004 and is now a managing director in the London office of Huron Consulting. Norwood’s Board of Trustees has elected Ronnie Harris to the new role of Vice President. Ronnie has served twice as a Norwood Trustee and was Norwood’s Chair of Fundraising for eight years and is Chair of Patronage. Ronnie is a Chartered Accountant and senior partner at Harris & Trotter.
