Drugsline Charity partners with Norwood

28 May 2013

As the largest provider of support to vulnerable Children and Families in the community, Norwood understands the necessity for preventative education amongst young people who may be vulnerable to the destructive impact of substance abuse and addiction.

Drugsline, the UK’s only Jewish Charity dedicated to helping substance abusers, has reopened thanks to a new innovative partnership with Norwood to establish a three-pronged Drugsline Service.

Our professional team provides a drop-in centre (Every Thursday from 6 – 8pm), preventative addiction education in schools and community awareness workshops.

The charity will be working in several Schools to teach pupils about addiction to drugs, substance misuse, alcohol and gambling.

Rabbi Aryeh Sufrin MBE, Executive Director of the charity for the last 23 years before its closure in September is acting as Chief Consultant on the six month pilot project with Norwood.

Elaine Kerr, Chief Executive of Norwood said: "As the largest provider of support to vulnerable Children and Families in the community, Norwood understands the necessity for preventative education amongst young people who may be vulnerable to the destructive impact of substance abuse and addiction. I am confident that together with Rabbi Sufrin we can deliver an effective, refreshed service which will benefit countless members of the community who need our help."

An Upcoming Community Awareness Workshop will take place on Tuesday 28th May from 7 – 9:30pm at the Kennedy Leigh Family Centre, Edgeworth Close, London NW4 4HJ.
