Annual M&A networking dinner7 May 2013Press Release The Norwood evening at Le Meridien hotel was a 'threefer'; amazing networking opportunity, some very frank discourse on the money and the media, plus raising funds for one of the great charities. I was proud to be there. Norwood welcomed professionals from the mergers and acquisitions, private equity and corporate finance industries to its annual M&A dinner event, held at Le Meridien hotel, Piccadilly in London. The networking event raised £43,500 for the charity's vital work. Over 140 guests attended the fundraiser, which was generously sponsored by SG Hambros. The evening featured a panel discussion moderated by Joel Hills, Business Presenter at Sky News. Guest speakers included Michael Grade CBE, Nicola Mendelsohn, Martin Leuw and Richard Segal. The high-profile industry experts discussed a number of topical issues including the public perception of private equity and how it has been shaped by the media. They also spoke of the importance of aspiration in today’s economy and the effects of social media. The floor was then opened to guests who had the opportunity to question the panel. Lord Grade said: "The Norwood evening at Le Meridien hotel was a ‘threefer’; amazing networking opportunity, some very frank discourse on the money and the media, plus raising funds for one of the great charities. Adele Breslauer, Associate Director of Fundraising at Norwood said: "The event was a great opportunity for professionals in the M&A industry to network whilst raising money for a fantastic cause. We were really fortunate to have some of the leading industry names on our panel who entertained us with a highly engaging, dynamic and topical discussion. A well-deserved thanks must go to our dedicated committee members, our host Le Meridien hotel, our sponsor SG Hambros and all our guests who made the event such a success. Their generosity will make a huge difference to the thousands of people who turn to Norwood each year."
