YN raises the roof at annual property awards

19 February 2013

I think we will see a lot of foreign interest in the London market in the coming months.

Norwood welcomed over 370 young property professionals last night for its third annual YN Property Awards, kindly hosted by the London Hilton Metropole. The fundraiser raised an incredible £83,000 for the leading UK Jewish charity, which supports children, families and people with learning disabilities. The evening was generously sponsored by Derwent London and Pilcher Hershman, with awards being sponsored by Knight Frank and Investec Specialist Bank and the raffle being sponsored by Jones Lang LaSalle.

The networking event featured a panel of guest speakers, all highly regarded powerful women, recognised for their exceptional contribution to the world of property. The panel discussed a number of topics, including their early experiences of the industry and their views on the current property market.

Lynda Shillaw, Director of Real Estate at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, said: "I think we will see a lot of foreign interest in the London market in the coming months. There will also continue to be demand for high-end residential properties; I see good quality as the key as well as location."

Deirdre Foley, CEO and Co-Founder of D2 Private added: "We will see the regeneration of dull areas across London to allow for these new developments. Property is anything but boring."

The YN Property Awards, which recognise up-and-coming young talent from the industry, were presented by Mike Phillips, Assistant Editor of Property Week who introduced the following accolades:

  • YN Rising Star of the Year, won by Jonathan Arnst of Capital A Finance Plc. The award was sponsored by Knight Frank.
  • YN Property Professional of the Year, presented to Celine Thompson of Derwent London.

  • YN Agent of the Year, won by Michael Davis of Cushman & Wakefield.

  • YN Company of the Year, presented to Burlington Partners – David Silver & Adam Velleman. The award was sponsored by Investec Specialist Bank.
