YN gets its Chemistry right with its Patrons

"The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all and a great success. The YN Patrons Cocktail Party gives us the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our most important supporters."

Last Thursday, around 90 young professionals enjoyed cocktails and canapés at The Chemistry Centre, Burlington House, in Piccadilly, surrounded by scientific literature. The event, organised by Norwood, recognised the on-going commitment and generosity of its YN Patrons.

YN has gone from strength to strength since its launch 16 years ago, and is a crucial part of Norwood’s fundraising programme today. Over the last year, YN supporters have helped the Charity to raise an amazing £150,000 through their support of the YN patronage programme.

Ronnie Harris, Norwood’s Chair of Patronage, thanked the assembled YN Patrons for their continued loyalty to the Charity. "I take encouragement from the fact that, despite the challenging economic climate, you’ve continued to dig deep in aid of Norwood. Your support has enabled us to maintain and improve our services, continue to innovate and deliver substantial projects and developments." he said. "I hope you will all continue to play an active role in the future of this incredible organisation for years to come."

They also heard from Auren Ghazal, who made use of the Work Skills and Employment service at Norwood, and has been supported into paid employment. "Norwood has helped me so much and I cannot thank them enough," said Auren, who currently works at Mellcrest Ltd and SEG, "I can’t believe I now work 2 jobs! I no longer have to go to the Job Centre as I do not need Job Seekers Allowance any more. I earn my own money and love it."

Nicola Koppelmann, Business Development Manager for YN, added: "The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all and a great success. The YN Patrons Cocktail Party gives us the opportunity to acknowledge and thank our most important supporters."
