Lady Elaine Sacks appointed as new Norwood Trustee

20 July 2012

Norwood is delighted to announce the appointment of Lady Sacks, as a member of the Board of Trustees.

Lady Sacks has been actively involved in many aspects of the Jewish Community for over 30 years. She takes a particular interest in supporting numerous charities, both Jewish and non-Jewish – including many organisations associated with Jewish education.

Lady Sacks originally trained and practised as a radiographer, and today teaches and mentors in Jewish communities throughout the UK and across the world. Taking the opportunity to continue her studies, she was recently awarded an MSc in Criminology. She has three children, and is the proud grandmother of several grandchildren.

Lady Sacks commented:

"I have always greatly admired Norwood for the work that it does supporting those in our community with learning disabilities, and for its work protecting and caring for the most vulnerable children and their families. I feel very honoured to become a Trustee of Norwood, and look forward to continuing support for their important work."

Norwood Chairman Bernie Myers, added: "We are proud and delighted to welcome Lady Sacks to the Board of Trustees. She brings with her a wealth of experience from within the Jewish and wider communities and she will make an extremely valuable contribution to our vital work with people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need."
