Norwood homes well ahead of the National average for compliance with standards of care.

25 June 2012

On Monday, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) published a report which stated that almost half (48%) of learning disability residential services did not meet Government standards for care and welfare. 145 impromptu inspections of NHS, private care and social care services took place, as a follow up to the mistreatment uncovered by the BBC Panorama programme at Winterbourne View Hospital in Bristol in 2011.

We are delighted to report that eighteen of Norwood’s residential care homes underwent key inspections in the last year, and all (100%) were assessed as being compliant.

Norwood has a longstanding reputation for the quality of its services and for safeguarding the most vulnerable members of the community. We always ensure that the support and welfare of people who use our services is at the forefront of our work which aims to give people choice and control over their lives.
