Alesha Dixon motivates Cyclists for Charity Bike Ride

The LA fitness Capital to Coast charity bike ride is an opportunity to be part of something very special.

Singer, Britain’s Got Talent judge and LA fitness Creative Director, Alesha Dixon has teamed up with Norwood and the Down’s Syndrome Association, for this year’s annual LA fitness Capital to Coast Cycle Challenge for Charity, which takes place on Sunday, 1st July.

The London to Brighton charity bike ride, which has been sponsored by LA fitness, has attracted the celebrity support of Alesha Dixon and Channel 5 News presenter Matt Barbet, who will be kicking off the ride in the heart of the capital at the EDF Energy London Eye for the first time.

The bike ride is suitable for cyclists of all abilities and encourages people with learning disabilities who are supported by the Charities, to take part in the ride themselves – they ride on tandem cycles with their supporters and not only inspire other riders but feel an immense sense of achievement themselves when they get to Brighton.

Alesha said: "The LA fitness Capital to Coast charity bike ride is an opportunity to be part of something very special – 2000 riders of all abilities cycling to Brighton in aid of two amazing charities – Norwood and Down’s Syndrome Association which help people with learning disabilities live full and rewarding lives. So get on your bikes on 1st July, have a great day out and make a difference."

The LA fitness Capital to Coast Cycle Challenge offers cyclists 4 routes all finishing in Brighton: 75 miles from London (the EDF Energy London Eye), 60 miles from Hampton Court, a 60 mile circular route from Brighton or 30 miles from Haywards Heath.

Now in its 17th year , the LA fitness Capital to Coast Cycle Challenge for Charity has established itself as the alternative London to Brighton bike ride. Last year, more than 1400 cyclists took part, raising over £300,000 for the benefitting charities, both of which carry out important work for people with learning disabilities and their families.

Matt said: "I know first-hand about the amazing work of Norwood and the Down’s syndrome Association and I would encourage everyone to start training and get into gear for the LA fitness Capital to Coast Cycle Challenge for Charity, in aid of these worthy causes."
