Before you register for this Challenge, please read this information carefully. As a participant, you must complete the Descente London Duathlon online organiser’s form in full by Midnight on Friday 21 August 2020 or you will forfeit your place in the Event. You will be sent the organiser’s form once you have fully completed this one. If you have any medical conditions which could be adversely affected by exercise, particularly a heart condition, or if you have any doubts about your health, you must get written clearance from your doctor.
You agree that you are physically capable of taking part in the Descente London Duathlon and agree to be solely responsible for your actions and safety and that Norwood are not responsible for any injury or illness, for loss or damage to personal effects, any accidents or death however so arising, except where injury or death arises as a result of Norwood negligence.
You are responsible for providing a roadworthy bicycle and helmet which complies with the BTF Rules and Regulations. Single speed bikes are permitted for the Duathlon, all bikes must have brakes and no fixed wheeled bikes.
There is no insurance provided, whether life or medical or liability, for illness, accident, injury, death, loss or damage that may arise in connection with the participation in the event by each participant. You are strongly advised to obtain such insurance yourself. We advise you to refer to the event organiser’s Terms and Conditions for any specific terms relating direct to the Descente London Duathlon.
You accept that should any medical or physical condition arise prior to the event, which is likely to affect your ability to compete, you will notify Norwood immediately.
By accepting a place to run for Norwood in the Descente London Duathlon you are expected to raise the minimum of £500 which does not include Gift Aid or Matched Giving. Although this is the required amount, do not treat this as a target as Norwood needs each and every one of our runners to raise as much as possible to ensure we continue to provide vital support to the thousands of people in our care. If you do not reach the required minimum of £500 one month prior to the event on 7 August 2020 then you will be required to set up a direct debit to cover the remaining balance. If for whatever reason you do not participate in the challenge, sponsorship forms and any sponsorship monies received should be sent to Norwood or returned to the sponsors if requested.
Your fundraising will not include:
• Collecting in any public place without first obtaining authorisation from the local authority and any other licences or consent that Norwood requires you to obtain.
• Collecting on private property (including shops, pubs etc) without first obtaining permission of the owner of the private property.
• Raising funds by carrying out door-to-door or unsolicited collections.
Minimum age of entry is 18 years.
