This fun family event is for all abilities. Walk your way around London, crossing 10 of London’s iconic bridges, with some fun facts along the way. Choose from 6.5 miles or a more challenging 13 miles and do it with friends and family, making a great day out all while raising vital funds for Norwood. Terms and Conditions


Before you register for this Challenge, please read this information carefully. As a participant, you must complete our form in full by 1pm on Friday 11 September. The registration fee for this event is £10 for adults and £5 for children under the age of 4 which is not refundable or transferable and does not form part of the minimum sponsorship. Children under 4 are free.

Participation and Insurance

The event is planned to take place on Sunday 13 September; however Norwood reserves the right to make necessary changes or cancel this event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances.

Whilst we have made sure that this event is accessible for everyone and family friendly, you acknowledge that participation in the London Bridges Walk may be physically demanding depending on your level of fitness. If you have any medical conditions which could be adversely affected by walking, particularly a heart condition, or if you have any doubts about your health, you must get written clearance from your doctor.

Each walker is responsible for his/her own conduct and must not undertake any action that may cause danger or risk of any type to him/herself or any of the other walkers. We also ask that all participants show respect for other path users at all times. The majority of this route is pushchair accessible however there are some areas that have limited access or where a pushchair may be difficult to maneuver. Route map must be followed exactly and you must not veer off the course. If there are any issues along the route you are to contact the emergency contact immediately. Please note the we cannot be held accountable for any changes made to the route due to road closures, road works or weather conditions.

You agree that you are physically capable of taking part in the London Bridges Walk and agree to be solely responsible for your actions and safety and those of your children and that Norwood are not responsible for any injury or illness, for loss or damage to personal effects, any accidents or death however so arising, except where injury or death arises as a result of Norwood negligence.

There is no insurance provided, whether life or medical or liability, for illness, accident, injury, death, loss or damage that may arise in connection with the participation in the event by each participant. Although a very low risk event, if you have any doubts, you are advised to obtain such insurance yourself. You accept that should any medical or physical condition arise prior to the event, which is likely to affect your ability to compete, you will notify Norwood immediately.


By accepting a place to participate for Norwood in the London Bridges Walk you are expected to raise the minimum of £100 which does not include Gift Aid or Matched Giving. Although this is the required amount, do not treat this as a target as Norwood needs each and every one of our runners to raise as much as possible to ensure we continue to provide vital support to the thousands of people in our care. If you do not reach the required minimum of £100 1 month after the event on 13 October 2020 then you will be required to set up a direct debit to cover the remaining balance. If for whatever reason you do not participate in the challenge, sponsorship forms and any sponsorship monies received should be sent to Norwood or returned to the sponsors if requested.

Your fundraising will not include:

  • Collecting in any public place without first obtaining authorisation from the local authority and any other licences or consent that Norwood requires you to obtain.
  • Collecting on private property (including shops, pubs etc) without first obtaining permission of the owner of the private property.
  • Raising funds by carrying out door-to-door or unsolicited collections.


There is no minimum age for this event however all participants under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult at all times.

Photography and Personal Data

By taking part, you agree that all photographs taken during the event may be used by Norwood for publicity and marketing purposes. We may ask for a quote and/or feedback which can be used in our press release and on our website. Your personal information may be stored and used by Norwood in connection with the organisation, promotion and administration of the event and other Norwood challenges. Norwood will not pass on personal information to any third parties, except as may be required for the Challenge and in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the GDPR.

Acceptance of Terms and Conditions

I confirm that I am medical fit to participant in the challenge. I will comply with any rules or regulation relating to the Event as Norwood may notify me of from time to time and follow all instructions given to me on event day to ensure the safety of myself and others.

Gift Aid

If you're a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid increases any past or future donations you may make by 25% without costing you a penny more.


If you click 'Yes' to Gift Aid, you confirm that you are a UK taxpayer and would like Norwood to treat all donations you have made in the past four years and all donations you make in the future as Gift Aid donations until you notify us otherwise. You understand that if you pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all your donations in the relevant tax year it is your responsibility to pay any difference.
