Gender Pay Gap report – April 2019

Norwood is the largest Jewish charity in the UK supporting vulnerable children and their families, children with special educational needs and people with learning disabilities. Founded in 1795, Norwood is one of the UK’s oldest charities and the only Jewish charity to enjoy the Patronage of Her Majesty The Queen. We help children and adults to maximise their potential at home, at school and throughout their lives, through personalised services designed to enable choice.

This document provides Norwood’s Gender Pay information as calculated within the pay period of April 2019 to include the 5th April 2019 in line with the Gender Pay Gap Information Regulations 2017. A pay period takes into account all of the employees who were employed and working for Norwood during the set time frame mentioned.

There has been a decrease in our gender pay gap results in comparison to our results in 2017 & 2018. The slight pay gap that occurred in previous years between male and female employees has reduced. This was due to an increase in male employees within the 1st Quartile.

Bonus Pay:

Norwood does not operate a bonus scheme system within the workforce; however merit awards were given to individuals who have taken on additional duties or payment from the employee referral schemes.

Over the last 3 years Norwood has consistently maintained a minimal gender pay gap. Where a small pay gap has occurred, this has been due to the number of male & female employees within the specific quartiles of pay, as demonstrated above. Norwood continues to ensure that all employees are paid in accordance to the job roles they are recruited to and not due to their gender.
