LifeSkills

At Norwood, we see it as absolutely vital that all adults with learning disabilities enter the working world wherever possible. It gives people independence and makes them feel part of the community in which they live.

Lifeskills is a flexible, tailor-made programme operating out of our catering establishments (see locations below) that run for two and a half days a week for a whole year. The programme offers qualifications in Workright and a Basic Food Hygiene Certificate. Applicants are can join at any stage but require individual funding from their local authority.

An extension of our established LifeSkills programmes is our recently launched Community Café project based at our Kennedy Leigh Centre in Hendon. The Café is run by adults with learning disabilities currently living in our homes and is open to everyone in the community.
