Fostering & Adoption Services

Unfortunately, families often break up, separating children either temporarily or in many cases permanently from their natural parents.

Norwood’s Fostering & Adoption Services seek to place Jewish children who are in public care, within loving, caring, safe and supportive families.

We need a constant supply of suitable adoptive, foster or respite carers. Adoptive parents are especially needed for older children, sibling groups and children with disabilities. Foster carers are needed for children of all ages, some require placements for short periods of time whilst others require permanent placement. A financial allowance is paid to foster families while they have a child in their care.

Norwood Jewish Adoption Society, which is part of our Fostering & Adoption Services, is approved for inter-country adoption.

Whether applicants are interested in either fostering or adoption, they go through an interview process with one of our team, who explains what is required and what their particular experience is likely to be. We offer preparation through group meetings so that information and knowledge can be shared. Successful applicants receive on-going support and, in the case of foster carers, on-going training.
