Our Special Events team organises the best fundraising events
around!.
A Gala Dinner is hosted at a fashionable London restaurant,
and while the food is a delight, we offer something very special
for dessert – an auction conducted by Sotheby’s
on behalf of Norwood.
Past events have included:
'Put Yourself in My Shoes' (9 June 2005)
Ever wondered what it would be like to be one of Fleet Street's finest and shoot REM in concert or to have Tom Jones sing Happy Birthday to you personally. Or how about train with double Olympic champion rower James Cracknell or judge the judges in their quest for the X-factor. That's just the sort of auction items our guests at a gala dinner at Madam Tussauds were bidding for on 9 June 2005. Put Yourself in My Shoes was the ultimate celebrity auction giving successful bidders the opportunity to have a taste of the lives of the rich and famous.
‘Designs of the Times’ (25 March 2003)
This extravaganza took place
at London’s Planet Hollywood. This event took the
guise of an international auction featuring headline grabbing
memorabilia. Contributors came from the worlds of Fashion, Sport,
Film and Music and the auction included an impressive list of items,
signed by both the designer and the celebrity.
‘Lots of Ink’ (2001)
This event
took place in 2001, at London’s Planet Hollywood. On the night we auctioned never to be offered again works of art supported
by some of the world’s leading animators and associated
celebrities including Matt Groening, Tom Hanks, Robin Williams,
Sarah, Duchess of York, Disney and Phil Collins, and succeeded
in raising over £200,000.
‘Hits Under the Hammer’ (1999)
Raising in excess of £200,000 this
popular event offered the chance to bid for exclusive musical
memorabilia from world famous stars such as Sir Elton John,
Sir Paul McCartney, Madonna, The Bee Gees, George Michael, Mick
Jagger and Eric Clapton. |
