A group of young cyclists experienced the best of the Balkans as they traversed picturesque Adriatic coastline over the Bank Holiday weekend to raise £32,000 for Norwood. The 27 fundraisers joined Norwood staff and several adults who use its services for a four-day bike ride and trek through southern Croatia.
The YN Croatia Challenge was Norwood’s second bike ride organised purely for younger supporters. As with all Norwood cycle challenges, the riders were accompanied by tandem teams which included some of the adults with learning disabilities who use Norwood’s services.
Nicola Graham, YN Manager, said: “The YN Croatia Challenge was a great way for people to undertake a tough physical challenge and enjoy fantastic weather and stunning scenery over the Bank Holiday weekend, all whilst raising vital funds for Norwood. I would like to thank all those participants who helped raise such an impressive amount for our vital services.”
Between 29 October and 7 November, Norwood is organising a bike ride in Thailand during which participants will discover dense jungle, emerald paddy fields, rapid rivers, tumbling waterfalls and numerous hill tribes.
