Elliott Goldstein, former chair of Limmud and a rising star within the Jewish community, has been announced as the newest member of Norwood’s Board of Trustees. Along with 11 other trustees, Goldstein, 30, will help to decide the charity’s strategic direction and will have personal responsibility for overseeing its approach to marketing and communications.
Elliott’s appointment demonstrates Norwood’s unique engagement with younger members of the community and their integration into its leadership structure. The charity has an extremely active division for young supporters, YN, which is one of the most important sections of its fundraising programme and a key vehicle for engaging lay leaders of the future.
Elliott, an Oxford graduate with an MBA from the University of Chicago, is the Managing Director of Anouska Hempel Design. A former strategy consultant for the Boston Consulting Group, he was previously CEO of global luxury cosmetics brand Zelens.
Elliott has made significant contributions to the Jewish voluntary sector as Co- Chairman of UJIA Living Bridge and Chair of Limmud. He is currently a trustee of the London School of Jewish Studies (LSJS) and was also recently appointed to the board of the Jewish Community Centre for London (JCC).
In recognition of his growing profile within the Community, he achieved top spot in the Jewish News’ Forty Under 40 initiative earlier this year. The scheme aimed to pinpoint individuals poised to occupy senior roles within the community and those likely to shape the direction and perceptions of Anglo-Jewry through their work in fields such as politics, charity and education. He was also ranked number 21 in the most recent Jewish Chronicle Power 100.
Elliot Goldstein said: “Norwood helps thousands of children, families and adults on a daily basis – and it is a tremendous privilege to be able to play a role in ensuring Norwood’s continued success in delivering its many vital services.”
Norwood Chief Executive Norma Brier added: “We are delighted to announce Elliott’s appointment to the Board of Trustees. He brings with him a wealth of commercial and communal expertise and will no doubt make an extremely valuable contribution to our life-changing work with people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need.”
