Triple Chance No Limit Texas Hold’em rules applied as more than 100 players raised £80,000 during the inaugural Norwood 100 Poker Tournament last Thursday. The fundraising event, the brainchild of Norwood supporters Gary Bluston, Mark Pollack, Nitzan Yaniv, was held in The Red Room at Les Ambassadeurs Club in Mayfair. The tournament was attended by several top professional players, including Tony ‘The Lizard’ Bloom and Andrew Feldman, although the first prize eventually went to Steve Kemsley.

Players paid £250 each to buy-in to the tournament and had the option of a £150 re-buy or add-on within the first hour. They also had the chance to win a weekend away on a luxury boat as part of the exclusive raffle, as well as a range of top prizes including an Apple Mac Air laptop and tutorials with professional poker players Roland De Wolfe and Tony ‘The Lizard’ Bloom through a special High Hand draw. Players were also treated to relaxing head and shoulder massages to assist them during the game.

Mark Pollack, chairman of the poker committee, said: “We are delighted with the success of this inaugural Norwood 100 Poker Tournament. I’d like to thank all those who helped us raise so much money for the people with learning disabilities, and families in need, who rely on Norwood’s life-changing services.”
