The ongoing commitment and generosity of more than 100 young Norwood supporters was honoured last night at the second YN Patrons Reception at the Westbury Hotel in Mayfair. The drinks and canapés reception was a ‘thank you’ from the Charity to its growing number of YN members.
Founded 15 years ago, YN has gone from strength to strength and has become a vital part of Norwood’s fundraising programme. Since last year’s reception, the Charity’s YN supporters have helped generate an amazing £180,000 through a series of fundraising events. Highlights include the inaugural YN Property Dinner, which raised a record £42,000, and the first and hugely successful YN Italian cycling Challenge, which raised over £40,000.
YN is also well known for attracting high-profile guest speakers, including Gerald Ronson, Lord Woolf, and Lord Trimble. This trend is set to continue at the YN Current Affairs Reception on 9 December, which will feature an interview with Chancellor George Osborne.
Speaking at the reception, Bernie Myers, Chairman of Norwood, told guests they are the ‘future’ of the Charity. “Each year, Norwood helps thousands of children, families and adults to improve the quality of their lives and achieve their goals,” he added. “However, we are only able to continue providing our life-changing services because of the ongoing support we receive from people like you.”
YN has six thriving YN committees which host events on behalf of Norwood include YN Finance, YN Lawyers, YN Media, YN Property, YN Current Affairs and YN Social.
