Puddles the Penguin will be the guest of honour as Norwood holds its first Teeny Tiny Toddle on Sunday, 18 July. Toddlers aged between two and five, plus their mums, dads, or grandparents, are being invited to take part in the event at Shenley Park, Radlett.
Participants in the mini-marathon have the option of choosing a one or two mile toddle around the picturesque woodland route. A range of fun activities on offer, including face painting, goodie bags, refreshment stalls and a bouncy castle, will also add to a fun family day out.
Norwood Event Organiser, Nicole Margolis, said: “This is the first time Norwood has organised an event for toddlers, and we hope that the Teeny Tiny Toddle will become an annual fixture in the family calendar. Every small step our participants make will help us make giant leaps on behalf of the people with learning disabilities, and children and families in need, we support.”
Families who wish to take part in the Teeny Tiny Toddle are encouraged to raise a minimum sponsorship of £40. All monies raised will go towards helping people like Baruch, an eight-year-old boy who struggles to communicate and needs help to walk and eat. Norwood has provided Baruch and his family with crucial support since he was born, through its groups for mothers and babies, its Unity recreational service and Buckets & Spades Lodge, a short-break facility in Finchley.
