Summer’s here and Norwood is on the ball!

2 August 2009

SNAP (Spurs and Norwood Altogether Project) – Norwood’s fantastic new sports initiative – is set to brighten up everyone’s summer with an exciting programme of multi-sports activities.

As the first project to be offered across all of Norwood’s services, everyone will have the opportunity to try out a sport. It might be football, boccia, basketball, cricket or badminton – take your pick. SNAP’s coaches from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation, led by George Timotheou, will be running sessions for Unity, Buckets & Spades, Hackney Family Centre, Binoh, Ravenswood, and adult services in both north west and north east London. Some of the services are hosting SNAP as part of their summer plans. Ravenswood is hosting a SNAP Village Carnival from 10–13 August.

The first SNAP sessions for Buckets & Spades and the Hackney Family Centre were a great success. All the children who participated had a great time and are looking forward to more SNAP sessions.

SNAP is a great way not only for service users to get fit, but also for staff to get involved. Some staff members have signed up for Coaching to Coach and were recently put through their paces at the Spurs ground in White Hart Lane.
