CHANUKAH with Norwood at head office in Stanmore and at Westfield London

Norwood WestfieldNorwood’s headquarters in Stanmore will provide the backdrop as Edgware Lubavitch and Stanmore United Synagogue and Harrow Council team up for the only civic Chanukah candle lighting ceremony in the north-west London borough this year. A six-foot menorah will be illuminated on Sunday, 13 December, outside the main offices of the Charity, which provides services that help to change the lives of thousands of people with learning disabilities and children and families in need each year.

The candle-lighting will take place between 4.30-5.30pm on the corner of Dennis Lane and Stanmore Broadway and will be attended by dignitaries including Cllr Eric Silver, Mayor of Harrow, and Cllr David Ashton, the Leader of Harrow Council.
Residents of some of Norwood’s nearby residential homes are set to attend the candle-lighting, which is open to everyone. Free doughnuts and latkes will be provided to guests at the ceremony. .
Norma Brier, Norwood’s Chief Executive said: “We’d like to wish everyone in the Community a very Happy Chanukah. Norwood helps to change the lives of people with learning disabilities and children and families in need and over the next few weeks and we will be holding Chanukah parties across London and the South East for the children and adults who use our services."

Meanwhile, Westfield London welcomes the Community to a Chanukah party which also takes place on Sunday. This is the first time Chanukah will be celebrated at the new shopping centre and between 3 -5pm there will be children's activities (including face painting and free arts & crafts), a prize draw (including a £1,000 prize) and free doughnuts, as well as the chance to do any last minute Chanukah shopping. The event will culminate with the public lighting of specially commissioned menorah in The Village, Westfield London's iconic luxury precinct.

"Chanukah at Westfield is already celebrated at many Westfield centres globally and we are delighted that Westfield London will be able to host the London Jewish community to celebrate this year as well," said Michael Gutman, UK Managing Director.
A fundraising collection will be made for Norwood at Westfield London.

Norwood will be holding a Chanukah party this week at Ravenswood, Norwood’s residential community in Berkshire, a dinner dance for London based adults who use the Charity’s services at Allum Hall in Elstree, and a celebration for members of the Unity recreational service for children and young people with disabilities.
