Over 100 YN Patrons, Friends and Committee members attended Norwood’s inaugural YN Reception last night at the chic West End venue, Asia House. The elegant drinks and canapés reception was a ‘thank you’ from Norwood to the growing number of YN supporters for their commitment and generosity to the Charity.

YN has become a very strong brand and has been able to attract incredibly high calibre speakers including Gerald Ronson, Theo Paphitis, David Pannick, Lord Woolf and, at next week’s YN Today Breakfast, Nobel Peace Prize recipient Lord Trimble. They all join a long list of high-profile figures who have generously lent their support to Norwood over the years.

Speaking to the YN guests at the reception, Bernie Myers, Chairman of Norwood, said: “From its modest beginnings around 15 years ago, YN has developed into one of the most important areas in our fundraising programme. We value and treasure your generous support.

“You might not realise it, but you are also the platform on which Norwood’s future is being built, not only in terms of fundraising but also as potential lay leaders of the Charity – and from what I have already seen I’m happy to step down now! We need your support well into the future so that we will be able to help thousands of people in the Jewish and wider community choose the lives they want to live.“

YN has six thriving YN committees and will be holding its first YN Bike Ride, Italian Challenge, next year in May. Committees which host events on behalf of Norwood include YN Finance, YN Lawyers, YN Media, YN Property, YN Today and YN Social.

Ross Freedman, recently appointed as YN Chair of Patronage, said: “Tonight was a personal thank you from Norwood to our YN supporters, who are the future of Norwood. It is because of their hard work that YN is the success it is today. YN is growing all the time and raising vital funds for Norwood in order that it can continue supporting 1000’s of disadvantaged children & families to live the life they choose.”
