Norwood’s six retail outlets are desperately short of stock, so the children and families charity is calling for the community to donate their unwanted or surplus clothes and goods to their shops on their drop-it and hop-it day on Sunday 10 May 2009.
Whilst the numbers of customers seeking high-street fashion at bargain prices has increased, during these tough economic times, donations of stock have plunged, both in quality and quantity.
On Sunday 10 May, people will be able to drop their items off at all the charity shops as usual, and in addition Norwood’s Head Office on Stanmore Broadway will also be open from 10.00am – 2.00pm to accept items.
Norwood is calling for everyone to clear out their cupboards and wardrobes and to donate their good, trendy, saleable stock of fashionable or vintage clothes, shoes, jewellery, accessories, bric-a-brac and small electrical items. Money raised from the sale of the stock will generate funds to support children, adults and their families living with learning disabilities or coping with social disadvantage.
Carole Levy, Head of Trading said, “The shops are an important contributor to Norwood’s fundraising target and have an annual turnover of approximately £500,000. Please donate as generously as you can and together we can make a difference to the most vulnerable people in our community.”

Norwood Head Office, Stanmore - Deliveries will also be accepted from 10:00am - 2:00pm to the van outside Norwood Head Office, Broadway House, 80-82 The Broadway, Stanmore HA7 4HB.
