Autumn banished as sizzling YN Summer Fiesta raises £5,500 for Norwood

It might feel like autumn is on its way, but partygoers were given a final taste of summer fun at the YN Summer Fiesta last night.

The event raised an incredible £5,500 for Norwood, the UK's leading Jewish charity supporting children, families and adults, coping with disabilities and social disadvantage. It was organised by the YN Social Committee and was held in the heart of London’s West End at swish nightspot Jewel, in Piccadilly Circus.

Guests were greeted with a complimentary glass of punch, before being invited to tuck in to a delicious kosher finger buffet. But it was the feast of entertainment on offer which proved to be the highlight of the evening.

A thumping set from DJ Gideon Chain, accompanied by percussionist Gabriel Doctor, ensured the festival atmosphere was kept at a steady simmer, and Ailon Free, from JooDoo Drums, brought some extra rhythm to the proceedings with several drum circle sessions throughout the night. Meanwhile, revellers had the chance to learn some new moves at Ceroc, Meringue and Salsa classes led by experienced dance instructor Brian Gordon.

The evening also featured a raffle with a fabulous set of prizes, including pairs of tickets to see Alesha Dixon and Maximo Park, a Lola Rose jewellery set, and £100 to spend at Warehouse.

YN Fundraiser Alisa Fleishman said: “We’re delighted with the outcome of the evening. Everybody had a great time and, most importantly, we raised a fabulous amount of money for Norwood. Thank you to all those who came out to support the evening, and I hope to see you at future YN events.”
