Latin Fever 2008

27 March 2008

Latin Fever sweeps Hampstead partygoers

Hampstead’s trendiest venue, the Tabby Cat Lounge, was the setting for the YN N-Joy committee’s Latin Fever party on Thursday 27 March. The event was attended by over a hundred revellers and raised £1,600 for Norwood, the UK‘s leading Jewish charity supporting children and families living with disability or coping with social difficulties. The latin music-themed event combined dance classes with a club night, and the guests helped to ensure a fantastic carnival atmosphere.

In the upstairs section, everyone grooved to Latin beats spun by a salsa DJ, whilst sipping on complimentary mouth-watering cocktails including cuba libre and mojito. Meanwhile downstairs, experienced dance instructor Brian Gordon, together with dance partner Ruth Solomon, held classes throughout the night featuring the latest salsa and meringue steps. The dancers demonstrated their new Latin moves on the dance floor until the early hours.

Event organiser Melissa Klein, said: "I would like to thank everyone for coming along and making this evening such a great success. Fun was had by all and we are delighted that so much money was raised for Norwood."

The Latin Fever party is one of several YN (Young Norwood) social and fundraising events held throughout the year.
