New York marathon runners raise funds for Norwood

Three participants in the New York marathon raised £15,000 for Norwood.

“These runners did a great job in tackling this marathon to raise vital funds for a fabulous cause,” said Ian Tate, Norwood’s Head of Challenges. “I hope their example inspires many others to participate in our fantastic programme of Challenges for 2009.”

Laurence Nesbitt

Laurence Nesbitt, Craig Talberg and Tracy Karet all took part in the gruelling event, which was held on November 1 this year. Norwood hopes to have more participants in next year’s event.

“It was my first marathon, and it was an incredible experience,” said Laurence Nesbitt. “The crowds in New York were very supportive, and the encouragement from my sponsors was extremely helpful. I wanted to ensure that I did not let down those who had pledged money to Norwood, and that motivated me to complete the challenging course.”
