“It was a wonderful event held on a beautiful, sunny day,” said Cllr Bob Edger, the mayor of Bracknell Forest, who gave the starting orders for the race. “Norwood is a wonderful charity, and Norwood’s Ravenswood Village, which is in Berkshire, is a great facility”.

The 10-mile off-road adventure was held in association with the Jewish News & Media Group and the JLGB, and was open to children aged 7-14 and their families. In all, 135 children and 85 adults took part in the fundraising Norwood Challenge. Heavy rain leading up to the event ensured that there were plenty of muddy puddles for the participants to splash through.

Ian Tate, Norwood’s Head of Challenges, said: “It was another fantastic Junior Bike Ride for a worthy cause. The money raised will help support the needs of children and families with learning disabilities or coping with social difficulties.”
