Norwood entered the refined world of classic art on Wednesday 20 September with an exhibition at the Connaught Brown Gallery that focussed on important drawings, paintings and sculpture from the gallery's specialist periods; Post Impressionism and the Modern Masters.
Around 100 art lovers flocked to the exclusive venue to enjoy works by an exceptional group of artists including Degas, Dufy, Giacometti, Matisse, Leger, Dubuffet, Hockney, Kisling, Marini and Chagall. The event, organised by the charity’s smART committee and sponsored by C Henry Bond and Co, raised more than £5,000 for the charity.
Emma Sharp, Norwood Community Fundraiser, felt that the event was a great success. She said: “It was a fine turnout and we are delighted with the money raised, which will go towards maintaining the vital services that Norwood provides for the most vulnerable members of our community.”
