Over 200 leaders of industry and key players in the business world, who enjoy a philanthropic association with Norwood , joined the organisation for its annual Business Breakfast on Monday 7 th March 2005 to see Sainsbury's Chief Executive Justin King outline his Plan for Recovery .

King, whose impressive CV boasts Asda/Wal-Mart, Marks and Spencer and Pepsi International amongst his previous employers, also spoke about Sainsbury's new Active Kids Programme, which is designed to encourage children to become more active at schools and in their free time.

He went on to take the opportunity to praise Norwood's work . He said: "Norwood does a tremendous amount for children and their families and I was delighted to be able to attend the Business Breakfast. My views on corporate social responsibility, and how we can mobilise customers to get behind initiatives, are highlighted by the Active Kids Programme, which I am pleased to say Norwood has joined. Hopefully their service users too will be able to benefit through this campaign."

The Norwood Business Breakfast is one of the organisation's most popular networking events attracting support throughout the business and professional community. Traditionally the Breakfast has become synonymous with top politicians, and leading industry and media personalities and this year was certainly no exception.

Simon Sterling, Chairman of the Business Breakfast , was delighted with the success of the event. He said : "We are thrilled to have been joined this morning by one of the most influential businessmen in British retail. Justin King has done more than most to influence what we as consumers store in our fridges and cupboards. I am very grateful to him for taking time out of his exceptionally busy schedule, and for sharing with us his plans for Sainsbury's and how to make them great again."

The Norwood Business Breakfast, held at The Langham, was again sponsored by Investec Private Bank and raised £40,000 for Anglo-Jewry's leading children and family services charity.
